DESIGN / gauzak
Aesthetic and funktional are the products from barcelona based studio Gauzak founded by Leire Pérez, Juan Tomás Carboneras and Arkaitz Arco. The style of the studio is simple, aesthetic and funktional with a touch of humor.
For the Spanish furniture manufacturer Quattria they designed the formal and functional products Marc, Camps and Jorge. The use of wireframe steel enabled an easy industrial process and subtracted weight from the object. Marc, a coffeetable, combines a table and a magazine holder to great effect, creating a clean and minimalist piece of furniture that is aesthetically pleasing and incredibly functional.
The funny thing is, that the table recalls the aestetic of classic clothing racks and gives the magazines a touch of fabric.
Simple and minimalist in the same way are Jorge (a magazine holder) and Camps (an umbrella holder). The final result of all three products is to be a structure that could go unnoticed, draw attention precisely to its simplicity and, at the same time, be integrated seamlessly into the environment that contains it.
Pérez, Tomás and Arco describe their product: “The key of the magazine rack JORGE lies in its simplicity and lightness.” These two characteristics are what makes this carrier so attractive and ideal for all spaces.
