The products of industrial designer Joseph Guerra has a minimal and simple concept. He combines differnt functions and views of one product to a new suprising item.
Graduated of the RISD, Joseph creates a stunning portfolio with a clear and graphic style. His ambition is to design useful, mass market objects that exhibit a simplicity and beauty that challenges traditional societal notions of value. He creates everyday objects, like a table, chairs ( Pool Side Chair) and suprising or abstract products and objects like the Saddle Chair or the Void Box. His style is gorgeous: clear and simple with a discreet use of the primary colors red, green and blue and straight geometrical forms.
One amazing product (and one of my favourite items) is the Oaxaca Case, a bag made from polypropylene, simple clear and absolut functional. As a way to look at the standard businessman briefcase in a whole new way. The briefcase is now re-imagined and referencing the basic plastic shopping baskets you see in every store with the material and open pattern. This bag is an icon of minimalism and simplicity. I also like the Cloak Ring, an emaille ring looks like paper, what combines the opposites of organic forms and strict minimalism.
I think in formal ways the work of joseph is a good conection to the photographic style of Patrik Lindell. A great combination. What do you think?
