Bold, geometric, poetic and lively. The work from swedish photographer Erik Wåhlström moves on the border between photography, design and art. Born 1982 in Västerås, Sweden, Erik was originally trained as an architect, received a BA in Architecture at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg and and worked two years at the fantastic architecture office Tham & Videgård Hansson in Sweden, before becoming a full time photographer.
Now he is focussed on fashion photography, still life’s and portraits and combines straight compositions and a raw documentary style. For BON Magazine he shoots an amazing documentary about the new faces from the Stockholm Fashion week, but in a lively and raw way, which reminds to the work from Jurgen Teller, but in a much more tougher and dirty way, which seems unable for fashion o the first glance. Erik's great talent is capturing an atmosphere, he translates the feeling of fashion in every detail of his pictures.
The Stockholm-based photographer works for the magazine's BON, Apartamento, The Stockholm fashion Week Magazine, shoot the Monki campaigns and work for clients like Helmut Lang, Beckmanns College of Design and Absolut Wodka. Found more of his amazing pictures on his website and blog.
