Csilla Klenyánszki

Maybe some of you remember the fantastic Hungary born, Rotterdam-based photographer and artist Csilla Klenyánszki (read an interview about her work here).
Csilla's work moves between still life and documentary, in her pictures she transforms everyday objects into strange and beautiful composed installations, which offer a new perspective on mundane and familiar things.

Csilla's work is mainly based on her own research about everyday phenomena and common objects, which she use as playground to give them new functions and meanings in her images. She ask questions about our reception of reality and the creative possibilities which surrounded us every day. Next to the objects in her images Csilla becomes very often her own model and place herself in the images, trying to create a connection between her own view of the reality and the perspective of the viewer.

In 2013 Csilla updated her portfolio with some great new work. Her new series Good Luck/On hold is based on an ongoing research about balance and the creative interpretation of it. The images of this series try to catch the fragile moment of balance in a simple composition of objects. Every image of the series is characterized by a carefully chosen composition of colors, forms and light settings which is typical for Csilla but also a good reflection of the term "balance" itself. See the whole series here.
